With this year's budget, we're putting more money back into the pockets of working Pennsylvanians, including more than 30,000 families here in Montgomery County.

That’s real relief—for groceries, for gas, for keeping the lights on.

I applaud @governor.pa.gov's swift action to immediately release 100% of November SNAP benefits to nearly 2 million Pennsylvanians following Thursday's federal court ruling.

This is about dignity.

Every working PA'n should have the freedom to care for themselves + their loved ones without having to sacrifice their ability to afford basic necessities.

If we want an economy that leads the nation, supports families, and enables small businesses to thrive, it’s time to pass the Family Care Act.

We're celebrating 2 years of the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus! 🥳 I'm proud to be a fouding member of the caucus, which seeks to address alarming trends of Black maternal mortality and pass the PA MOMNIBUS.

Thanks to Co-Chairs @repcephas.com, Rep. Curry, & Rep. Mayes for their leadership. 💪

This week, the PA House passed @repvenkat.com's HB 1828, which requires insurers to cover approved vaccines without cost-sharing. 💉

As prime sponsor of the senate version of the bill (SB 989), I am ready to vote YES and send this to the Governor's desk.

I joined @senatorhaywood.com and my @pasenate.com colleagues to sound the alarm and announce a proposal diverting $62M in interest earned from the rainy day fund to support food banks and Meals on Wheels during this emergency - the literal least we can do.

If we can’t train more nurses, we can’t care for more patients.

Proud to share my bill with Sen. Rosemary Brown, SB 998, just passed unanimously in the Institutional Sustainability & Innovation Committee!

SB 998 creates a grant program for nursing schools to boost the nursing workforce pipeline.

Pennsylvanians deserve better than this.

It's past time to deliver state and federal budgets that make working families' lives safer and more affordable.

Our nurses deserve better. If we want to tackle PA's nursing shortage, we need to prioritize workplace safety and finally pass the Patient Safety Act.

As the Democratic Chair of the Senate Aging & Youth Committee, I was proud to participate in City and State PA's 2025 PA Aging Summit, where we explored real solutions to meet the needs of older adults and caregivers across the Commonwealth. Because every one of us deserves to age with dignity.

It's time to get serious. Senate Democrats stand ready to support a bipartisan budget that actually delivers for working Pennsylvanians.

The partisan, flat-funding budget bill Senate Republicans passed today does not get us any closer to a resolution.

We're all facing the careless and cruel cuts to health care thanks to Congressional Republicans.

These cuts will hurt nursing homes, rural hospitals, community health centers and families already struggling to make ends meet.

It is beyond time for compromise. We've sent a letter to Senate Republicans to bring us back into session and pass the House's bipartisan budget.

Yesterday, the House passed a reasonable, compromise, bipartisan budget and sent it to the Senate for us to consider. While Senate Democrats were ready to dig in and do the work, Senate Republicans packed up and went home. That's unacceptable. We must finish a budget now.
