Interesting how much resentment this photo created from white conservatives who assumed that the dismantling of DEI meant elite schools would return to the 1940s.

Solid, insightful thread.

"Trump’s autocratic regime is aggressively attacking and intimidating minority electeds ... just like his goons are raiding minority immigrants. He wants every Black, Latino, & Jewish person to know that if any minority dares to speak up, we will face the same violence."
Thread...

Take note of what is happening.

A Latino Senator Alex Padilla dared to ask Noem a question—he was violently tackled, arrested, & now the Speaker wants him censured.

A Jewish Congressman Jerry Nadler challenged Trump—his staffer was handcuffed in an illegal raid by Trump’s goons.

Germany & Japan surrendered. There were trials for war crimes were in Nuremberg & Tokyo. They confronted their history & became thriving, prosperous, free nations & American allies

Moscow never stood trial for its crimes in 20th century or this one. Chose the cost of living outside the rules /1

🧵 Several people have raised questions about what I meant by "deservedly so" when referring to the decline of institutional trust. It's a fair question, so I want to explain that, because it sits at the heart of my work on how democracies collapse when their epistemic foundations rot.
The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world.
They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

I’ve always appreciated Dmitry’s technical analysis, but if this is the viewpoint of a mainstream Russian analyst then it speaks volumes about what Europe is up against. A sovereign & well-armed Ukraine is a European interest & Europe has the means to pursue that end for as long as it takes.
There is only one way to help Ukraine, and it is to acknowledge defeat. An honorable, well-fought, but still a defeat. Anything short of direct involvement of NATO forces will just prolong the suffering.

There are two possible outcomes of the Russian war: (1) the destruction of Ukraine, or (2) the survival of a Ukrainian rump state firmly embedded in the West. All other intermediate scenarios are merely transitional phases that ultimately lead toward the first outcome.
What Ukraine faces is not traditional occupation or ideological subjugation, but elimination. Put simply, Ukraine’s choices are to fight back and risk being killed, or to surrender and be killed. By fighting back, Ukraine has a chance; by surrendering, it has none. buff.ly/Mj4BTTN

16,7 mio grise blev i 2024 kørt ud af landet til opfedning et sted i Europa.

Regeringen vil stramme transporttiden i EU….. for slagtesvin.

Altså ikke smågrise. Derfor rammer det ikke os selv. Smart😎
