When creating PDFs, avoid using "Print to PDF." A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.

New in PN: The blame for alleged fraud in Minnesota belongs to conservatives

"Republican policies have created a perfect vicious cycle: Privatize services, let private companies run amok, then declare that the government is the problem. And the Trump administration is turbo-charging it."

Privatization and a lack of oversight creates a vicious cycle.

Good. How about it, Wisconsin?
Minnesota just launched our statewide paid leave program.

Starting today new parents, small business owners, and people recovering from illness or injury will have the security to take needed time off work without risking their paycheck.

UPDATE: Five QBs started just once for the Packers: Bobby Thomason (1951), Joe Francis (1958), Don Milan (1975), Randy Johnson (1976), Seneca Wallace (2013).

Only Johnson won his start, beating the Falcons 24-20 in the season finale in Atlanta. The opposing QB that day? Ex-Packers QB Scott Hunter.
Don't be surprised if the #Packers' top two QBs Sunday are Clayton Tune and Desmond Ridder. Coach Matt LaFleur said Jordan Love is cleared from concussion protocol but he's not going to start. He could be an emergency backup, but LaFleur didn't rule out using Ridder.

RIP, Jim Flanigan, a backup LB and special teamer for the #Packers on their Super Bowl II team in 1967. He was 80. (Though often called Jim Flanigan Sr., he is Jim Flanigan Jr. and his son, also an NFL player, is Jim Flanigan III, not Jim Jr.)

It's no longer left versus right or even Democrat versus Republican.

It’s now democracy versus oligarchy. Freedom versus dictatorship. Right versus wrong.

Millions are awakening to this new reality — and they're speaking up.

The sleeping giant of America is roaring.

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.

@beautyofagame.bsky.social Found while looking for something else ... Ed Hinrichs cartoon from The Capital Times of Madison, Wisconsin, of Monday, Nov. 12, 1951. It's his take on the Wisconsin-Pennsylvania football game from the previous Saturday. Dig that!

There might be one more. Pro Football Reference credits Bobby Thomason with a start vs. the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Nov. 11, 1951, but as @danheilman.bsky.social says, "records from that far back are sketchy." The old papers don't specifically say Thomason started. He and Tobin Rote split time.

I'm increasingly seeing stories where the journalists clearly want to normalize Trump and downplay his insanity and vileness (here: "defiance," etc.) but the facts they cite belie their bullshit to a hilarious degree. This story is bonkers.

Yes. There needs to be a specific campaign theme and promise to get rid of ICE.

Everything about it is anti-American.
