I posted about this dress back in 2018, one of the first years I began to do my #ootd. Even from all that time ago, I have never forgotten this dress- a 1900-05 Doucet robe a transformation. It was therefore such a pleasure to see it in person at the #PaulPoiret exhibit. Once again, it was there

#OTD 19 September 1991, walkers in the high Ötztal alps on the Italian border, found a body melting out of the ice. It turned out to be the remains of a c.5200 year old man preserved with all his kit.
Of course, it was essential to replicate him in Playmobil.

Every person on Bluesky should know:
* Every post on Bluesky is PUBLIC forever
* Every post on Bluesky is archived by ICE, NSA, and many other agencies
* Even if you delete a post, it’s already been captured
* Judges don’t care if you were “kidding” or being ironic

Bitly is adding advertising interstitials to its free QR code service. Which I guess is part of trying to balance the cost and revenue.

But it is also doing so retroactively even for existing codes. Which is a really shitty thing to do.

Remember that in order for hatred to be multiplied, it must be engaged with.

Don’t “dunk” on racist/transphoic takes - block them.

Don’t entertain trolls and bad-faith individuals - block them.

Don’t let the people assailing those you love encroach on YOUR space. Kick them out and lock the door.

One of the really common questions I get with #BadActorBingo is: why would anyone want to DO that? What's their MOTIVE? It's a hard question to answer sometimes, because there's a billion possible answers and some of them make you sound like the guy standing in front of the murder board ranting.

So I wrote this, and it's the best thing I've ever written.

"We will resolve disputes in favor of protecting users as a whole."

That right there. That tells everyone how Trust & Safety is going to act, and it gives T&S profound latitude. They're not there to rules-lawyer or first-amendment.

This is actually urgent. Prioritize the intentional capture and archival of those recipes we keep saying we're losing.

Also figure out what you haven't passed on yet that you need to gon' head and do.
I don’t know who needs to hear this. But go ahead and have that conversation with that elder and record it. Don’t put it off. It’s going to be necessary.

Skype a Scientist is a far-reaching program that can send a friendly inspiring scientist into any classroom w/an internet connection. It can go where local budgets have been cut, textbooks censored, or schoolboards coopted. If you'd like a cool bureaucracy-free org to support in trying times...👇
For anyone new who is like "Wtf is Sarah talking about", I run a science ed nonprofit that matches scientists with classrooms, scout troops, libraries, etc for Q&A sessions about science. We offer this program for free, which is why I'm always asking for money on here lol
