I am an unremarkable man of moderately low character.

Maturely antifascist.

I keep a little dirt under my pillow for the Dirt Man
So he won't take me down
to his lair
deep under the mountain
underground
That's where he keeps his dirt

Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart…

Two Guardsmen Shot in D.C., Near Farragut West Metro
Yesterday afternoon, two guardsmen were shot at 17th and I NW (according to the Washington Post, the shooting was about 30 years south on I from the intersection). The shooter is an Afghan national admitted into the U.S. in 2021 and whose asylum application was approved by the Trump administration this year*, but, as of this morning, a motive is unclear (in the only not-awful moment of this whole event, FBI Director Kash Patel swore the FBI would be relentless in hunting the shooter down, even as the shooter was already in custody).

they won't. instead of begging the media to be good when they never will be, democrats should be condemning the press for being a propaganda ally of a regime hurting america.
Over and over, the mainstream press reports that Trump has secured a “trade deal” with a foreign country and every single time he’s just making it up.

When will they learn?

And other than the Guardian and HuffPost, none of these outlets have run stories speaking to experts about how Trump is a narcissist, which I would argue is far more important in terms of predicting his actions than any age related decline (not dragging @realworldrj.bsky.social btw).
A reminder that the New York Times published nearly *300* stories on Biden's age. They've had 2 to date about Trump and the reason is that Fox News directed the narrative. The Times actually fabricated a story about neurologists visiting the WH to examine Biden when Biden wasn't even in the country

“This is just the second in a series (with more to come) that will show that even in a state where more of our rights are protected, this tech allows anyone with access to circumvent the will of voters and the will of legislators to spy on the private lives of Spokanites.”

In October, statewide news reported that a sheriff's deputy in Texas searched thousands of Flock cameras in Washington for 'Had an abortion, search for female.’ New documents obtained by RANGE show Spokane County Sheriff's Office cameras were accessed in that search:

Amidst nationwide and state scrutiny of the cameras, Spokane County’s Flock network was used by an out-of-state cop looking for a woman who had an abortion.

Police are using her lawn as a staging area. She wants them off. The say she's obstructing them and they'll arrest her. She keeps repeating that it's her property and she won't let them on it without a warrant.

They stay!

Four: Reading 50,000 studies won't matter if the studies themselves are bad, biased, or even fake. Those studies often end up published too, in bad journals and even sometimes in good ones.
I need people who are profiling RFK Jr to not recite, uncritically, the number of studies the man says he has read.

One he lies
Two even if he has read them doesn't mean he understands them
Three it's more useful to take one and explain its problems.

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

Utterly ludicrous framing from @nytimes.com here, treating Pete Hegseth's arguments as if they're legitimate. The casual reader will be left with no inkling whatsoever of how unusual and corrupt an abuse of the process this truly is:

I hate how every nation is living down to its stereotype because I’m trained to look for complexity in things, yet the USA is run by a caricature of crony capitalism that Soviet propaganda would consider too unsubtle, Russia is run by a Bond villain, the UK is speedrunning Children of Men, etc.

On the patently unlawful boat strikes

It's hard for USGs to claim ‘mistake of law’ or ‘advice of counsel’ – when they’re firing lawyers who wouldn't sign off on the strikes.

WaPo's new revelations on firings or removals:

1) CIA General Counsel
2) NSC Legal Adviser
3) CIA Mission Center’s lawyer
