Not that we should be surprised by this disaster for our civic life, but America is where it is today BECAUSE the Justice Department under-prosecuted white collar crime in the last two decades, not over-prosecuted.

It is hard to imagine a bigger gift to China than what Elon Musk is doing to USAID right now. It’s the backbone of all democracy aid in the entire world. The other funder remaining now? China.
USAid offices worldwide have been ordered to shut down and thousands of staff members told to return to the US by this weekend. These are people who’ve built lives and families in the countries that they help.
