I'm fucking HEATED. If we're going to survive and get out of this disaster, we white people need to uplift AND protect Black and brown leaders, with our bodies and lives.

I don't want to mourn another Black leader. I want them to lead. We need them here, not as martyrs in a goddamn history book.

To the extent that people shy away from the idea of totally open borders, reshaping the border as a largely economic affair vs a punitive one might help people get their heads around abolishing ICE as a step towards something productive (which is a step towards open borders)

A reminder that ICE hasn’t slowed down in Minneapolis at all.

Outside of Minnesota, it might feel like everything has changed since Alex Pretti’s murder. But ICE hasn’t actually lost any power and they’re continuing to terrorize our communities.

I don't want to do a whole "we told you so" thing, but the ocean science community read P2025's plan for NOAA, realized it was catastrophic, mobilized folks early, entered 2025 with a plan, and fought like hell to avoid the worst outcomes of P2025.
"They told us what they were going to do. They published it. They put it on a website. And when it happened, the press was surprised."

Hoo boy, everyone should bookmark this @parkermolloy.com piece & make sure everyone involved in media reads it.

• Alex Pretti
• Renee Good
• Keith Porter
• Heber Sanchaz Domínguez
• Victor Manuel Diaz
• Parady La
• Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz

They all deserve justice. And for us to remember their names.

Kennedy has shown both determination and ingenuity in undermining vaccine science, often through methods that are complex, obscure, or hard to explain publicly. Without issuing a single ban, he has weakened the foundations of vaccine availability and trust in the US.

Tons of industry pros (agents, editors, artists) are donating items, so spread the word to writers and illustrators who want professional help on their project. Opportunities like this come very rarely to get feedback from this caliber of professionals. Plus it supports worthy organizations.

If these kids have the courage to fight from within a concentration camp, then we better fucking have the courage to fight from our positions of relative freedom.
Reminder that, in recent days, children have rallied and protested for their freedom inside an ICE detention center where water has been described as "putrid" and meals reportedly contain “bugs,” dirt, and debris. This is where the kidnapped 5-year-old Liam Ramos is being held.

If a non-citizen neighbor gets kidnapped by ICE, you supposedly have about 4-5 hours to file a habeas petition in Minnesota to prevent ICE from shipping people to Texas. They are moving people that quickly regardless of whether or not they have legal status.

La Migra have always been monsters, be they INS, ICE, CBP, HSI or any other weird slush fund org.

Just nobody heard the brown people who were their primary prey when they told you.

immigration isn’t a problem in need of violence. It needs more paths & access, open doors. All else funds cartels.

So keep pushing. Anything short of ICE’s abolition isn’t nearly enough.

And I’d say that even ICE’s abolition should only be the start of ending the violence that came to feel “normal” under Trump.
