Suddenly removal of Starmer and this Reeves would set that back

The crazy thing with all the anti China briefing last month around the spy case is that we do appear to be reaching a point where the political goals and actions of China may align more closely with the UK then the goals of the USA.
Does alignment with China then make more sense?

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

Finished the Land in Winter by Andrew Miller while nap trapped by the newborn
Was one of the three books on the Booker longlist that caught my eye and is a fantastic read
Very evocative, especially how the proximity to World War 2 echoed in the action and thoughts of all the characters

People are wondering who takes Tim Davies replace as the director general.
But I see less discussion of who will take the job of CEO of BBC news
And think there is only one person I know who has been both a constant in news at the BBC and will get the youth on board (youth going from 35 down)

Obviously, it’s been a tough day for the BBC. Big organisations, working under big pressure, will sadly make errors
But I still feel huge pride in hosting a BBC podcast, and having previously spent 11 years making a world-renowned children’s show that no other broadcaster would have made

Probably should stop posting about the BBC but really curious what the end goal here is for the right wing folks pushing this.
I suppose just generally damage the BBC but trust was being lost under Tim Davies anyway.
May potentially create an opportunity for more change.

May be a naive question but in light of what's happening at the BBC what are Labours options to change things?
Aware now that roles lost will be replaced by members of the BBC board
But why does it feel like labour will struggle to make changes when it felt like BoJo pushed through a lot of change?

We're all joking about this but I am worried Morgan Mcsweeny gets involved in this and somehow gets Paul Dacre appointed.
the right winger who was appointed to lead the BBC in the hope of appeasing right wingers has been driven out by right wingers for not appeasing right wingers enough and the BBC has the chance to do the funniest thing ever

The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it
We must stand up for a strong, independent BBC, to stop Trump’s America becoming Farage's Britain.

Find this fascinating but also so strange.
Doesn't feel like a resigning matter, feels like the people pushing the scandal have now kicked out a BBC chair more sympathetic too then.
And leaves labour the chance to put someone in the role who is more on their side.
(Unclear if they'll do this)
