This, though, is why it was always so important for Starmer to call this stuff out quickly and forcibly - it forces the beeb to do their job.
Even the BBC doing what they should be doing at all times in their piece about the statements from No10. Included the actual ONS population figures.

I'm thrilled about the introduction of this bill. As chair of the Fair Elections group in Parliament, I've long been pushing for measures to tighten the rules around political donations and protect against foreign interference.

Was absolutely furious at Labours silence last summer. A huge missed opportunity that allowed racist sentiment to propogate.

Since September there has gradually been more pushback but good to see a response so rapidly today.

Wonder if team know to give Starmer's view not McSweeny's
Downing Street weighing in on Jim Ratcliffe's comments about immigration. A Number 10 spokesperson said “Jim Ratcliffe should immediately apologise. His offensive remarks are wrong and play into the hands of those who want to divide our country.”

Tell you what “Sir Jim”, when you stop being a resident of Monaco for tax purposes and actually contribute to the U.K’s schools, hospitals, and defence we will start listening to you.

Oh, and stop spouting utter rubbish on migration.

Urine was never a waste product. When we drink we produce urine. Bear Grylls needs urine to survive and grow. We could all thrive if we drank more urine.
Burgum: "CO2 was never a pollutant. When we breathe, we emit CO2. Plants need CO2 to survive and grow. They thrive with more CO2. So the whole endangerment thing opens up an opportunity for the revival of clean, beautiful, American coal."

"The real fight is not in the Labour Party. It's with the right-wing politics that challenges that. The politics of Reform... Divide, divide, divide. Grievance, grievance, grievance. That will tear our country apart... I will be in that fight as long as I have breath in my body."

Am told Eluned Morgan, First Minister of Wales, is going to follow Anas Sarwar in calling for the PM to stand down;

Also that there will be "Scottish MP ministerial resignations" afterwards

SL: I said differentiate goddamit!

Fascinating project this but by far my favourite thing is these wee island communities which appear to imply that some people exist on Bluesky only to support Nottingham forest/Oxford United.
