Geriatrics ST, continuing to third wheel my wife and son. Leeds, UK
Books, gaming and, despite how much it pains me, politics
Finished the Land in Winter by Andrew Miller while nap trapped by the newborn
Was one of the three books on the Booker longlist that caught my eye and is a fantastic read

Very evocative, especially how the proximity to World War 2 echoed in the action and thoughts of all the characters

People are wondering who takes Tim Davies replace as the director general.
But I see less discussion of who will take the job of CEO of BBC news

And think there is only one person I know who has been both a constant in news at the BBC and will get the youth on board (youth going from 35 down)

Wow impressive how adaptable memory is if this is how Kemi recalls her first PMQs came across.

For some reason, all I can imagine is King Charles shouting his brothers name in rage like this character from Big Mouth.

I'm going as my posture after following the toddler round a soft play for 2 hours.

Quite enjoy Dispatch by ad-hoc games.
Scratching an itch that I didn't realise was there with the loss of telltale games.

Although from this stat I assume 91% of the other players are sociopaths.

The start of a better world, where the only conflict is the rolling one about US vs UK food.

Is there any creature more neglected then a Labrador who is not being 30 minutes before his scheduled dinner time?

Well worth reading, some very powerful words from the five survivors here.
But also curious to see how frustrated and unimpressed they seem to be by those speaking against the inquiry.

Also does feel like the actions of those who have left the panel will just lead to more delay to this inquiry

Was the Glorious revolution for nothing?

How this piece can be written with this paragraph smack bang in the middle is just crazy to me.

Also multiple of those leaders have said they don't want to set up return centres! Why raise it again?

Intesting to see with the current ongoing debate about the govs bad comms.
Especially as putting more money into these places is what people want.
But even with bigger sums, so much damage has been done and ground lost that will take both more money and time to pick things up

How the cup of tea felt in that moment.

Getting some food for Divali from Signature Sweets in Leeds and very kindly they made sure I knew about the free chai.
Perfect to sip while waiting in awful weather for the food.

Honestly don't know why they release these festive flavours.
They never taste very nice.

For one of the supposedly sane current conservative MPs, Tom Tugendhat is sounding pretty hysterical in the China debate.

Lovely to have this display up in John Lewis for Divali!

Why does the new Witcher trailer look like they've photoshopped Liam Hemsworth face onto Henry Cavill?
