Surely selling out to Trump means you get to do both at once?

Alternative idea- Daniel Craig wakes up in a liminal space and is met by Paddington Bear and the Queen who tell him it's not his time.

Film title? On his Majesty's spiritual Service.

Also find it odd that the settlements with American media companies mentioned but not the fact that some like paramount settled to help aid coperate mergers higher up, and that many lawyers thought their cases winnable.

Trump only got these settlements because their owners caved/curried favour

A very informative read.
I'm sorry you had to go through that experience at the BBC and clearly the organizations loss

Yeah absolutely! A nicely succinct example there

Which is all probably a bit rambly but I'd say a rough summary is class was/is as much a social as an economic structure and in the UK was linked with a lot of judgement

Class but atually have very high incomes, higher then a consultant doctor which most people would say is a middle class profession.
But will still say that they are working clas because of their background and where and how they grew up.

Now the idea you can't change your class was historically something society would act on and put on people of certain classes.

But will also say in the last 20 years there are many people who focus on the background rather then the income side.
For example many people will say they are working

There's also the concept that in theory/for some you can't really change your class even if you change your circumstance.
Eg a upper class person will remain so even if they are destitute because they know how to be upper class
And a working class person will remain so even with wealth.

One hell of a topic and hard to for into one post.
I'd say the key thing is class in the UK is its almost more about your background then your income.
Income is a factor but the middle class kind fo represents both white colour workers/less manual labour and professions. Eg docs, teachers etc

Is there someone they have in mind to parachute into the role?
Doesn't seem that easy to drop someone in especially as Tim was put forward during Boris Johnson's tenure.
May put off good candidates actually going for it but also galvanizes supporters or the BBC to pay a lot more attention

Does the charter discussion help labour do more? But generally this feels like a stick to beat the bbc with- especially as gov doesn't seem willing to throw more cash into culture
