I've made this take before, but ballplayers gambling on games is way, way worse for the integrity of the sport than ballplayers taking steroids. I'd rather watch 1000 guys cheating to win than one guy losing on purpose. Nothing more integral to the game than the understanding that everyone's trying.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the Costco in Astoria has its cafe outside the store entrance, meaning passing civilians can take advantage of the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo without paying for membership.

Do people still LARP? Just saw a dude walk out of Central Park in knight’s armor. He was probably playing a game but it was the upper west side so he could also be an ardent Cuomo guy going full Richard the Lionheart to try to reconquer Queens.

Since we're all questioning the NY Times' editorial judgment lately, I'll add that Miguel Rojas is not nearly a noteworthy enough baseball player for the Sunday crossword. I saw "MLB shortstop Miguel ____" and I thought, "well, Rojas fits, but it couldn't possibly be him. Who am I missing? Cairo?"
