This relates to my one bit of unsolicited parenting advice: by the time your child is 13, they’ll be passionate about an activity or identity that you don’t understand. What that is, and how you react to it, will determine and define your relationship with your child from that point forward.
A lot of older adults forced a war on universities because that’s where their kids realized their parents were evil.
