Nothing will cure you of thinking our wealthy business elites are in any way smart or interesting like serving them food and drink or retail.
I have worked multiple jobs at a five-star resort, including caddie and bartender. Please do not tell me that the average business executive is normal.

This insanity is going to pass (not tomorrow but eventually) and at that point there has to be real accountability for these institutions and decision-makers; at this level, it will likely be social and interpersonal more than anything

“Antifa Ost” literally means “Antifa East.” It’s not a formal organization but a label used by German police, intelligence services, and media to describe a cluster of more militant anti-fascist activists in eastern Germany.

If the US system remains trapped in an endless knife fight between a party of good government and a party of nihilistic governance then Europeans need to accept that the US will no longer be a stable partner long after Trump is gone
I'd just like to point out that we spent an entire shipment of air defense interceptors' worth of money on new signs for a name change that isn't even legally the name of the DoD.

Ukraine is currently experiencing rolling blackouts from Russian strikes, btw.
Letterheads and signage alone would quickly run the bill upward of $1 billion, with a full overhaul likely rising to double that amount.

It’s plausible the Supreme Court strikes down Trump’s tariffs, at least in part, since the majority’s earlier rulings have followed the standard that Trump can break the law whenever he wants except perhaps when doing so causes the Justices, their bribers, and other rich people to lose money.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

This is exactly right.
But I'll suggest that the Democrats, as opposition caucuses, need to think of being an opposition caucus/party, if that's what they do actually recognize they need to be, is to approach this not as a political campaign, but how we understand planning for a military campaign. 3/

But it breaks my heart every time I go to scratch his ears or rub his head & he cowers in fear of being hit.

Fuck the person who hits any dog.

UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

It’s pretty easy to say: JD Vance is a Catholic and he’s being a bad one. He is directly contravening the Church’s stance on human dignity in multiple ways, but his refusal to disavow antisemitism is especially disturbing given the Church’s own history and its own repentance of that history.
