I don't really like haunted houses or jump scares. But you know what I do love? A good spooky RPG setting.

Finished Shin Blue Version the other day, and it's definitely my favorite Gen 1 romhack now, it is the most polished and customizable version of the early games that doesn't mute or cover up Gen 1's special flavor, a vanilla enhancement hack for the ages: backloggd.com/u/noah_k/rev...

I played Auryn Quest last night, and it's a wild fever dream of a videogame, situated within the aesthetic and canon of Neverending Story, an unexpected delight: backloggd.com/u/noah_k/rev...

I reviewed Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a game that honestly rather disgusts me. A cheaply produced minimum viable product with a pricing system that borders on a grift, this is Game Freak's complacency on full display.

In Super Smash Bros., the skeletons visible when characters are hurt by electric attacks are not tied to specific animations, and instead are a form that can be toggled on and off at any time, including in cutscenes. Below are excerpts of the game's intro, with skeletons.

The ambiance of Pacific Drive is delightful.
Looking back on it, #PacificDrive was a fun but very unusual project to work on - writing the individual pieces went by pretty quickly, but creating each "instrument" from scratch could take weeks of recording, editing, programming, and looking for happy accidents out in the real world!
