Under the Island is an inspired top-down Zelda-like set on a pretty island. It doesn't quite have the talons to hook into you with its narrative alone (Link's Awakening this is not), but gameplay-wise it knows how to soar. 🪶

Under the Island is an inspired top-down Zelda-like set on a pretty island. It doesn't quite have the talons to hook into you with its narrative alone (Link's Awakening this is not), but gameplay-wise it knows how to soar. 🪶

Calamity Angels: Special Delivery makes that hard-to-impress of RPG game + board game mechanics; but rather than do anything TOO revolutionary, Compile Heart + Idea Factory instead decided to play it silly, and it works! 🎲

Longer development times on modern consoles meant a lot of Square's FF time was spent on FF15; but it was an anticipated and high-quality remake that'd serve as their swan song for the PS4. #FF7 Remake brings us to a Top 5! ☄️ (Sorry not sorry: Hard Mode IS the way to play).

Longer development times on modern consoles meant a lot of Square's FF time was spent on FF15; but it was an anticipated and high-quality remake that'd serve as their swan song for the PS4. #FF7 Remake brings us to a Top 5! ☄️ (Sorry not sorry: Hard Mode IS the way to play).

So I missed the memo where Dark Souls 2 went from its original PS360 graphics to a "current-gen remaster" look thanks to a few well-made mods. 🤯🖤 Specifically here are lighting, texture, and grass mods that really round out those atmospheric touches.

Guerilla Games in the 00s was like, "We're gonna do really good graphics", then made some great Killzone sequels and found a new IP in Horizon Zero Dawn! It showed-off exhilarating and satisfying fights against giant killer animal-bots amidst lush post-apocalyptic landscapes. ⛰️
