On the other hand, the idea that such an order was exceptional is hard to maintain in light of the hundreds of Vietnam vets who responded to news of the My Lai massacre by saying that they'd taken part in or witnessed such killings of unarmed people. Who set that tone?
A central issue at trial for the My Lai massacre in Vietnam was whether an Army lieutenant, or the Army captain who was his superior, was responsible for the order to leave no survivors.

Neither suggested the SecDef would have given such a command.
If the U.S. was at war, Pete Hegseth's order would be a war crime, a military lawyer said. Instead, it might just be murder. wapo.st/49KbUJ1

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.

NEW: The Court has ruled that the National Guard deployment to DC is illegal and granted a preliminary injunction.

As we made clear from the beginning: the US military should not be policing American citizens on American soil.

This is a victory for DC, Home Rule, and American democracy.

CBP is one of the most lawless agencies in the country and has a track record of violating people's rights, even those of U.S. citizens.

Putting them in charge of immigration enforcement is an alarming escalation, but our communities are prepared to defend our neighbors.

Appreciate this coverage but it is hard to explain to people not in the Chicago area that THESE ARE NOT PROTESTS.

This is people coming out of their homes, doing anything in their power to try to stop their neighbors from being kidnapped.

It is coming for your city next, please be prepared.

I prefer “anti-fascist“ for a host of reasons and this is a nice practical one.
I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

This is why I can't take this sky place except in tiny doses. Not one commenter to this post expresses horror at the Nobel committee's actual choice: a fascist coup leader who praised Trump's murder spree of ppl in boats off Vzla & welcomes a US invasion to overthrow the govt. Peace of the Grave
Any news organization that treated "Will Trump Get Nobel?" as a remotely serious question, and not one more indication of his accelerating hallucinatory patterns, has some 'splaining to do.

Looking at you, all major news orgs.
