At SD @spj-posts.bsky.social event last week, @sofiareports.bsky.social said a government study that showed foreign-born residents commit crimes at lower rates than U.S. citizens had been removed from internet. I tried to find it for a big story we had early in 2025 too and wasn’t able to. Can 1/2

California has a law that gives counties the authority to inspect ICE detention facilities like Desert View. At least as early October, that authority wasn't being utilized.

We've found DHS is giving local cops a new facial recognition app to find immigrants. Point camera at face, tells the cop to detain person or not. The app is available on Google's Play Store. Google took down apps that report ICE sightings but now hosts this app
