Today is the birthday of legendary artist & writer Darwyn Cooke (Nov. 16, 1962-May 14, 2016).

Day 309: Are ted talks still a thing? Welcome to my ted talk.

The panel is vertical in shape, and at the top is a drawing of a window seat for cats that is basically a PVC pipe frame held to a window with 4 suction cups: 2 on one side of the frame and 2 extended out with suspension wires to stabilize the bed against the window. The first caption says "We got a new little window seat for the cats, so they can stare at birds 3 inches closer than usual. Margo loves it, but sometimes it slips when she climbs onto it." Beneath this is a large cartoon arrow pointing down at my longhair cat Margo who is looking angrily at me while sitting in her now-slanted window seat that's angled to one side and losing its grip on the window. It was a sober hobby he’d started during the pandemic, going to restaurants by himself, sampling sweets. He made a lot of lists, he said, most of them food-related. I asked what other kinds he made. “Lists of lies liberal white women tell about Donald Trump,” he replied. Suddenly, his leg was shaking. He grabbed the edges of the table and raised his voice: “White, liberal women are a plague on our society.” He proceeded to drink 11 iced coffees.

Day 287: This movie continues to absolutely rip for me
