This page recaps key moments & points forward to the next chapter - Life. Onward... #Nostos #Unflattening 2

-The right to vote
-The right to choose when, how, and with whom you start a family
-The right for you and your family to live free from gun violence

All of the money that changed hands in the Teapot Dome scandal totaled less than $10 million after adjusting for inflation, and it was considered so corrupt we still teach it in high school government classes a century later.
Corruption so pungent, it wafts right off the page:

Lobbyists who do pardon deals “say their going rate is $1 million. Pardon-seekers have offered some lobbyists close to the president success fees of as much as $6 million if they can close the deal.”

We can live without billionaires but billionaires cannot live without us, in the same way that a body can live without cancer, but cancer cannot live without a body.

NSFW—But fascinating!

New Delhi-based trans artist Shubnam sent me a link to her 2018 digital comic (on Behance) titled "Sediments".

It includes some daring expressionistic passages and wild uses of both color and typography—in three languages, no less! (translation at bottom of each frame).

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

A great Xmas gift!
I just bought one!

(...okay, technically I bought it for the house, not as a gift for a person—although the house does have a lot of personality. 🤷‍♂️)

Yikes! That REALLY IS half-true and half PURE HALLUCINATION. 🥺
Looking at AI summaries of things you know is like reading news reports on events or topics you have firsthand experience with, only magnified 1000x.

I don't know how many people know *both* these albums well, but nothing better sums up my values as a barely-adult music fan/struggling artist in the early '80s than the fact that I had pirated both on either side of a C-90 cassette and nearly always listened to both albums back to back.

All strapped in for Boston—and MICE!
December 4, 2025 at 2:53 PM
It’s true, Alas, that Raina will be unable to join me this weekend in Boston, but I hope to share with MICE attendees why I’m so excited about visual communication these days—and of course, talk a bit about my collab with Raina on our very special book, The Cartoonists Club!
We regret to inform everyone that due to schedule changes, Raina Telgemeier will no longer be attending MICE with us this year :(( Our excitement still stays because we now get a huge opportunity to witness Scott McCloud give a full visual communications talk! www.micexpo.org/events/scott...

Just for fun, click on the "Mike Johnson" trending topic in a desktop browser and scroll slowly down to see him make that same head dip over and over and over again like an old school "Drinking Bird" toy.
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.

Schmitt’s argument is unintentionally revealing.

The “color revolutions” were non-violent, pro-democracy political movements aimed at ending autocratic regimes in former Soviet bloc nations.

If the Democrats are leading a “color revolution,” then Trump is an autocrat & Schmitt is pro-autocrat.
Sen. Eric Schmitt: "This is the language of a color revolution where you're calling on military men and women to disobey orders."

Magnificent as always!
Completed popup card for my boy turning from 6 to 7! My ongoing birthday tradition of overly complicated cards continues! I abandoned trying to make this a functioning popup early on, and just went for the drawings - it’s more a paper diorama - but he was pleased, and so am I! Onward!
