For those new to BlueSky, I am very active on here, but I do not personally post often here or anywhere. Law school taught me not to give my opinions out for free. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I still welcome you to follow me, notwithstanding.

It’s not too surprising Cuomo interprets “no” as a “maybe”
ok so in case it wasn’t clear from his speech, the NYT reports cuomo has in fact conceded

The push notification for this stated something like “might could” may be “fixin’ to” disappear. And let me tell you—not on my mama’s watch.

She might could single-handedly preserve the dialect.

Con law prof here. This shit is WILD. "Plenary authority, derived from Article II and the mandate of the electorate" to disappear whoever the state deems a terrorist is not a fucking thing in any kind of constitutional democracy. It's unvarnished tyranny.

FDR once bragged to a massive crowd at Madison Square Garden that the richest people in the nation hated him and “I welcome their hatred.”

Just weeks later, he was re-elected with 61% of the vote in a 523-8 blowout in the Electoral College.

Voters *like* politicians who make the right enemies.
The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.
