Bondi reportedly put 1,000 people in 24-hour shifts for two weeks in March to review the Epstein files. She made them flag mentions of Trump.

And then ...

She decided she couldn't release anything. 😯
Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino have made a mess of the Epstein files.

It’s time to clear it up once and for all for the American people.

it isn’t hyperbole, donald trump has pardoned more child sex offenders than any president in american history
With Colton's conviction, that makes FOUR pardoned January 6th insurrectionists who have faced charges for solicitation of a minor or child sex abuse of some kind.

We need political science literature to reflect the fact that closing their hospitals didn't turn Trump's supporters against him but denying that there was an elite sex trafficking ring did.

If they're willing to keep walking into this trap and taking the damage to their own political coalition, it's probably because the alternative is worse, right?
Almost every House Republican just voted to block debate on releasing the Epstein files.

Day after day goes by. As a person with a beating heart, I will never understand how ANYONE can see the terrible things that are happening across this country & world and still find a way to support the current sickos we have in power right now. I’ll never forgive those who supported all of this.

An astonishing figure in this piece:

Last year, the U.S. budgeted $12.8B for new affordable housing.

This country is now poised to spend $45B on immigrant detention centers.

That's nearly *four times* as much on cages as on homes—in the middle of a devastating housing and homelessness crisis.
Are We About to Have Labor Camps in the United States of America?
If you think that’s far-fetched, then you really haven’t been paying attention to what the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress have been up to lately.

So what do you all think will happen when ICE runs out of “illegals” to hunt? They are coming after US citizens next. Homegrowns as our president put it.
With this vote, Congress makes ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in history, with more money per year at its disposal over the next four years than the budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons combined.
🚨🚨 NEW: House passes sprawling domestic policy bill, sending it to Trump's desk

Final House vote is 218-214, with TWO Rs voting no (Massie & Fitzpatrick).

Senate passed it 51-50.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

It’s a terrible bill. It will literally kill people. The most vulnerable among us will suffer as the wealthiest benefit. It’s perverse. I wish there were something I could do. But alas, I am only a U.S. Senator from Alaska whose “no” vote would kill the bill. So I voted yes. You get it.

Incredible to think how much damage Mitch McConnell talking GOP senators out of convicting Trump in the Senate in 2020 continues to do to Kentucky. Now presidents are immune from prosecution and rural Kentucky is forsaken. All to keep that bastard alive politically. Hell can’t be hot enough.

The GOP bill would take healthcare from 17 million people. Big numbers can be hard to understand - 17 million is the same as the *entire* population of:

Wyoming
Vermont
Alaska
North Dakota
South Dakota
Delaware
Rhode Island
Montana
Maine
New Hampshire
Hawaii
West Virginia
Idaho
Nebraska

COMBINED
Trump's Tax Scam is a disaster.

this is the level of funding where all the possibilities for American politics that have been described as hyperbolic over the past decades - the comparisons to Nazi Germany and other nightmares of the 20th century - become logistically possible and politically likely
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.
