What a terrible, irresponsible headline. The answer is infection is *far* more of risk than vaccination.

Hello everything sucks right now and you might be wondering what you can do to fix it. The short answer is the same as it was last week:

Help people. Build community. And fight the attempts to divide us.

It’s baffling to me that so much of the U.S. (and the world) has decided that letting their kids get sick at school all the time (and spread illness to their parents and everyone else) is preferable to just … adequately cleaning indoor air

“Yet instead of investing in cooling infrastructure, Premier Doug Ford’s government has taken to blaming school boards for excessive classroom heat. Meanwhile, kids are left with a patchwork of protocols to help them cope”
How hot do Ontario schools need to get before the Ford government does something about it?
Extreme temperatures are making classrooms unbearable and learning more difficult for kids across the province.

I’ll never forgive Biden and the Democrats for lying and saying the pandemic’s over & caving so quickly on clean indoor air & the need for continued masking. It’s because of them that the vast majority of otherwise “sensible & reasonable” people mistakenly think COVID’s a cold.

- Fire Chief Medical Officer and leave position vacant.
- Appoint anti-vaxxer ministers.
- Actively campaign against vaccination.
- Complain that no one is getting vaccines.
- Cancel public funding for vaccinations.

When we know that vax + mask + clean air = trifecta vs airborne diseases, but don’t implement these measures, the potentially life altering impacts on children getting preventable illnesses are entirely our fault.

We KNOW how to keep kids safe and we’re NOT doing it. Inexcusable. Criminal.

If convincing people to get the measles vaccine is ‘slow going’ this calls for a vaccine-PLUS approach.

Kids/Educators/Bus drivers have the right to NOT get infected, especially those at high risk.

Vaccine-PLUS means:

+masks
+air filtration
+ventilation
+more!

"If Covid damaged our immune systems, we would be seeing record outbreaks of other diseases." That was the argument in 2022. Three years later, we're having the worst resurgence of flu, tuberculosis, measles, and whooping cough in generations.
The U.S. is on track to have the worst whooping cough outbreak since 1948. Some regions are reporting that they are struggling to do contact tracing of cases because they are ALSO managing measles investigations.

And, of course, funding cuts to public health have resulted in fewer resources.

Reminder as we watch measles rates climb in Canada that *this* is Poilievre's attitude towards vaccination during a public health emergency.

MMR vaccination has long been mandated for health care workers.

Would a Poilievre govt ban the MMR mandate in health care during a huge measles outbreak?
