He definitely understands risk pools, but he’s counting on many voters not to—and to hear “Obamacare…fraud” and think “yeah! Why *are* insurance companies getting paid for nothing! It’s Obama’s fault!”
Dems should welcome him to Team Single-Payer. They can write it into their December bill. 🤡

Every Dem, running for office or not, should be pointing to this daily from here on out, saying, "Imagine all the jobs we'd create building ubiquitous renewable energy & modernizing the nation's power grid, & how much of our income would be freed up for *other things* as the $ of electricity falls."
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Well, South America and Africa were once joined as a single continent. Not recently, though.
I guess this is why he can't decide whether to go to war against Venezuela or Nigeria -- bc he can no longer tell South America and Africa apart.
Trump: "For generations Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa. I mean, if you take a look at what's going on in parts of South Africa. Look at South Africa, what's going on. Look at South America, what's going on. You know, we have a G20 meeting in South Africa."

Btw, the press obsessing about Mamdani seems weird. He seriously underperformed the Democratic vote in NYC compared to recent elections, barely scraping 50%. Moderate Democrats in VA and NJ dramatically overperformed. That seems the real story

There is simply no way that exhaustible, ever more costly fossil fuels can win against continuing, cost-reducing innovation in tapping into inexhaustible natural energy flows.
Huge wins for clean energy in Virginia and New Jersey tonight. The Trumpists attacked on electrical costs - and got clobbered. People didn’t like Trump’s braindead effort to take away clean, affordable energy. This ends any talk of retreat on clean energy.

No single state can end the tit-for-tat gerrymandering cycle on its own.
A national shift to #ProportionalRepresentation w/ multi-member would end gerrymandering, allowing voters to choose their leaders – rather than the other way around.

The Fair Representation Act would improve redistricting by implementing multi-member districts and ranked choice voting for the U.S. House.

Horrific. Devastating. Unfathomable loss.
I feel so helpless seeing the many ways humans are destroying our planet and each other.
Love your neighbors. Give what you can. Think creatively about your skills and where you can put them to use to help others. Be a light in this spreading darkness.

“Individuals on the ground sent a message that reached us Monday morning that 1,200 were dead,” Nathaniel Raymond, the lab’s executive director, said. “By that evening, they said 10,000. By Tuesday, we couldn’t reach them anymore. We assume our ground contacts are dead.”

Another great example of multi-ethnic coalitions: the Southern Tenant Farmers Union (1934-1960), founded in Tyronza, Arkansas.
In 1934, there were ~8 million sharecroppers working farmland owned by a landlord. About a third were Black.
So when the STFU (yes, really 😉) began organizing...

You in fact can't talk about the history of the labor movement without talking about multi-ethnic coalitions. The International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union was initially composed of Jewish and Italian immigrants, but later grew to Black, Puerto Rican, Chinese, and Filipino workers.

This conversation is so so good. There is something deeply healing about conversations like this. Ukraine World podcast has many.

Either this ends with some sort of truth and reconciliation process where a very large number of people go to prison for a very long time or we will take a short pause and then start doing it again, but worse.
A Naperville man was hauled away by federal immigration agents Thursday morning as his two sons watched, the older boy begging them not to hurt his father and tearfully asking for a chance to speak to him before they left.
