In response to rising threats to democracy, a bipartisan @americanbar.org task force encouraged states to consider #RankedChoiceVoting to ensure elected officials "hold true democratic mandates to carry out the policies on which they were elected."

With winner-take-all elections, only the largest group of voters gets representation. Everyone else gets nothing.

Voters across all demographic groups support ranked choice voting, but RCV is especially popular w/ younger voters.

On Dec. 30, Santa Clara County, CA held a $13 million runoff for county assessor.

Turnout dropped 53%, and the winning candidate got fewer votes in the runoff than in the general election.
