We're aware of a fake BBC video circulating on social media falsely claiming that Bellingcat has verified Ukrainian weapons sales to Hamas. We've reached no such conclusions or made any such claims. We'd like to stress that this is a fabrication and should be treated accordingly.

An old Shropshire tradition states that if you see a corpse, you must place your hand on it.

This is to break its bond with you, to ensure you can sleep freely, and keep the dead from haunting your dreams 👻

Happy Michaelmas! I hope you’ve eaten your fill of blackberries for the year, because, according to tradition, this is the day when St Michael the Archangel kicked Satan out of heaven, straight onto a thorny blackberry bush. Satan allegedly peed on the bush for revenge. Rude!

Against Voltaire, or, the shortest possible introduction to the Holy Roman Empire
Long time readers of the blog will remember that I have written, a couple of times, about the Holy Roman Empire in the past before. There’s a few reasons for this – first of all the HRE goes so ha...

the smosh potato is less of a recipe and more of a technique for getting a potato with a creamy center and cronchy edges
there are many ways to make these such as boiling and pan frying or roasting and deep frying but here is one that uses just one cookie sheet and a ziploc bag for minimal cleanup

The thing to get about America's right is that they believe reading and thinking about Anne Frank's words is grooming but they see checking kids' genitals, forcing kids to give birth and having sex with kids as wholesome.

Because to them, kids are property. And you don't teach property to think.

Someone told me that this app may seem very empty because of this default setting that requires replies to have 2 likes or more before they show up.

Indeed! I changed it so that all replies show up, and suddenly the place seems much more lively. I highly recommend changing it in your settings.

Tudor cat flap
I finally got to see this very old cat door 🐈‍⬛

According to Exeter Cathedral, the cat door was cut for the Bishop's cat to catch mice, between 1598 & 1621 🚪

Records show that a cat was paid 1d per week in food when on mouse/rat catching duties 🐀
