Hey remember when the CDC dropped 6 of the 8 foodborne illnesses from the nationwide monitoring system in July and one of them was listeria? Mentioning for no particular reason www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?

TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

We don't yet have any idea what the ideology of the Kirk shooter was.

But we do know that the Denver school shooter was a far-right white supremacist.

‘Radicalized’ Evergreen High School shooter appeared to hold antisemitic, violent views in online accounts
Armed with a revolver, the 16-year-old shooter systematically reloaded and fired as he wandered the school, trying to find new targets, police say.

You know who was also a young husband and father—not to mention ex-Marine—who died, not attacking others to make himself rich and powerful, but to save the lives of others?

David Rose, the officer killed by the anti-vax domestic terrorist who attacked the CDC.

Thinking about the family of Representative Melissa Hortman & her husband who were assassinated at the hands of a radical MAGA shooter in June.

Melissa was doing such important work for the state of Minnesota & this country-we grieve her loss & demand strict gun reform legislation.

Mainly, I'm worried about the people who will be attacked now. Assholes will use this to go after every minotity group while swearing that allowing any dipshit to walk around with a gun is totally fine.

I love when folks like @alancerny.bsky.social shares stuff like this, but it’s always disappointing when I can’t find any way of watching the movie in question. Well I suppose I could pay $80 for an OOP DVD, but cmon!

As rumors fly that Trump has suffered a stroke, I was reminded that the motherfucker has always been a loathsome piece of shit. To make more money with a different tenant, Trump threw 74-year-old widow, Mary Filan, who had recently suffered a stroke out of her Queens apartment.

I especially like the disembodied voice at the end saying “it’s only the beginning…” in that inappropriately ominous tone.
Can you even imagine a network or streaming service doing (or even being able to do) this kind of elaborate production number with the casts of their shows now? It’s like a glorious fever dream. (Bonus points if you spot Tom Hanks…)

BARKING DOGS NEVER BITE (2000, dir. Bong Joon-Ho) is the kind of a movie that feels like only could have been made and released during South Korea’s cinematic revolution in the early Naughts. I forget sometimes how much this era was truly and enthusiastically “my shit”. (Streaming on Prime)

Where the hell has EMPEROR OF THE NORTH been all my life?! I was IN the moment I realized we were getting an honest to goodness Star Wars Opening Crawl — only it’s for HOBO WARS! And Nine of Borg (Ernest) is Darth fucking Vader! Gosh darn I love this crazy train movie!

Excited to finally share this with you all: I interviewed Aldis Hodge for Men’s Health Magazine about his new series CROSS on Amazon Prime TV.
Aldis is the total package of intelligence, strength, and compassion, and he has lots more to share with the world

Inspired after watching WICKED to revisit an old childhood favorite. I was obsessed with RETURN TO OZ when I was a wee lad. Found all the dark and scary stuff a lot of fun. Great practical effects and puppets. And I really dig that Walter Murch leaned into the weirdo shit from L. Frank Baum’s books.

Being blown away seeing a new band I’ve never heard of is why my old ass still heads out to shows and gigs with the younger folks. Sometimes the discoveries are worth the lost sleep, aching bones, and progressive hearing loss.
Stopped by my favorite bar/music venue and happened upon a stellar local band called GUHTS. I was transfixed.

It’s interesting how it only takes until the second film in the series to reach the Zenith of its Misanthropy too! Each subsequent film after that never quite reaches the heights (or lows) of BENEATH. I suppose that’s kinda difficult to do considering the ending of the first sequel…
