Where the hell has EMPEROR OF THE NORTH been all my life?! I was IN the moment I realized we were getting an honest to goodness Star Wars Opening Crawl — only it’s for HOBO WARS! And Nine of Borg (Ernest) is Darth fucking Vader! Gosh darn I love this crazy train movie!

Inspired after watching WICKED to revisit an old childhood favorite. I was obsessed with RETURN TO OZ when I was a wee lad. Found all the dark and scary stuff a lot of fun. Great practical effects and puppets. And I really dig that Walter Murch leaned into the weirdo shit from L. Frank Baum’s books.
