Incredibly brave. Imagine the faceless bores the BBC will have making their programmes if they continue down this path.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

This is what could happen in many wards across England in the May 2026 local elections.
Under FPTP Reform will get in as the anti-Reform vote will be split 3 ways.
A result which both illustrates the magnitude of the Reform threat and the problems with Labour’s “Farage is right, don’t vote for him” response. 37 point Lab to Reform swing. Labour go from first to 4th as anti-Reform vote splits 3 ways. Combined Lab/LD/Grn vote larger than Reform vote.
Red Hall & Lingfield (Darlington) Council By-Election Result:

➡️ RFM: 37.7% (New)
🌳 CON: 17.3% (-22.5)
🔶 LDM: 17.3% (New)
🌹 LAB: 16.8% (-37.1)
🌍 GRN: 9.8% (+3.6)
🙋 Ind: 1.0% (New)

Reform GAIN from Labour.
Changes w/ 2023.

We’re now up to 22 ex-Tory MPs joining reform. It’s not subtle - every day clearer this is just a rebranding of the nutty fringe of the Conservative Party offering to rerun the Truss/Johnson omnishambles

The Lords had its third day of debate over the various amendments on Friday, but so far has only managed to get through around 80.

At this rate the bill will not pass in time, with claims from supporters that this is a deliberate tactic. Opponents insist it is proper scrutiny.

I don’t think the majority of voters know it. They think Trump is a blip and normal service will resume in 3 years time. But it isn’t a blip, the USA has been more and more protectionist even since Obama, they don’t know that the USA is trying to install Extreme RW (fascists) Govs throughout Europe.

I mean the thing is we’re at war, we all know it, but we’re (understandably) cautious about following that through to its logical next phase because we need time to be ready. But we don’t really have the time.
The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.
Christ on a cracker — these seemingly hostile drones only missed Zelensky’s plane because he was unexpectedly early www.thejournal.ie/drones-dubli...

Quite breathtaking story - military grade drones at Dublin airport which flew on the path Zelensky's plane took. The drones reached the flight path of his plane exactly the time it should have been there, but just missed it because Zelensky arrived ahead of schedule:

Gardaí are investigating whether the drones took off from land in Dublin or from an undetected ship.

There’s a problem with these new Mayoralties at present. The problem is general political apathy/cynicism, leading to very low turnout. Combined with florid enthusiasm and masterful opportunism in the Reform camp, this has given Hull & East Yorkshire CA a Mayor voted for by a mere 10.7%/electorate.

Today addressing his vile antisemitic comments where he said "Hitler was right" and "gas them all" Nigel Farage also described Emma Barnett as one of the BBC’s “lower-grade presenters”.

Emma Barnett is Jewish.

The 2026 local elections will provide a real life experiment on the random outcomes under FPTP, as the Welsh and Scottish elections held on the same day wil use a form of PR.
🎰 “When First Past the Post collides with multiparty competition, the electoral slot machine spins into operation”

⚠️ A stark warning from the @economist.com that the “unfairness of FPTP could undermine the legitimacy of the governments it produces”

In the 80/90s I was a metals trader on the LME, along with one Nigel Farage. He was a gobby tosspot, a figure of fun not to be taken seriously.

The very first thing he said to me when introduced was an insult about the Dutch in WWII. He may be racist, probably a xenophobe, but definitely a c**t.
