Seeing some beautiful photos of aurorae tonight, so here's a reminder that other planets get them, too!

This is Saturn, with aurorae visible at both poles in this UV image from Hubble's Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, taken in October 1997 when the planet was 1.3 billion km away.

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important
⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.

We can look at this from another angle - Chinese manufacturers of electric cars just took a deep breath. That will definitely be a trigger for huge car market disruption in Russia.
In occupied Crimea, people wait for hours in line for gasoline. Fuel is so scarce that even tiny deliveries to gas stations feel like a celebration. Yet the "gas station country" still insists everything is just fine.

He’s right. But it points to a larger decay in American overall politics: prostration to theatrical spectacle over truth.

This phony strike. ICE Barbie. US troops idling in a calm, quiet normal LA but for 3 isolated blocks. Schrödinger’s tariffs.

I just saw a good example of what I was talking about with chatgpt being a crackpot generating machine.

A guy had started Wheeler's Spacetime Physics, and had a problem on page 2.

Wheeler expressed a square root as a power of 1/2.

√a = a^1/2. This is basic algebra, not physics.

🧵 The CNN piece on Bongino and Patel is one of the clearest real-world examples of a key phenomenon in disordered discourse:
The agents who stoke it can become its victims, especially when their disordered discourse meets the reality of the institutions it captures.
In 2023, Dan Bongino, star podcaster, demanded to know: "What the hell are they hiding with Jeffrey Epstein?"

In 2025, Dan Bongino, FBI deputy director, disappointed the 2023 version of himself. "I have reviewed the case. Jeffrey Epstein killed himself," he wrote yesterday.
