I’m not kidding.
Smith and Legault have the same strategy
It will be interesting to see how overriding charter rights, forcing a rejected labour deal on workers, and threatening substantial fines will impact Alberta's plan to add and recruit 3,000 new teachers over the next 3 years.

On ne blâme pas les agriculteurs quand des gens ont faim. Pourquoi blâmer les médecins quand des patients souffrent ?

La crise en santé, ce n'est pas un manque de 🩺, ni un manque de volonté de servir le public.

C'est un échec du système.
October 26, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Doctors aren't the cause of a healthcare crisis any more than farmers are the cause of hunger.
QC has plenty of doctors, yet patients needlessly wait.
QC also produces plenty of food, yet people go hungry.
We don't blame farmers.
So why are we blaming doctors, and not the broken system?

Another new metric to measure something that yet again reduces the contribution of researchers to the arbitrary standards set by the armchair critics of academia.

And wait for it: this one is called a Sh-index 💩
Google Scholar has introduced a 'Sh-index' metric that scores papers higher if you are first or last author. Apart from the fact metrics are generally bad, this one explicitly punishes PIs who often collaborate, publishing with 2 or 3 equal PIs at the end of the list.
