In a world that asks us to move faster, I create art inviting us to slow down. My work is rooted in nature, hope & healing, meant to bring calm, connection & quiet joy into your home. If you believe beauty matters, if nature feels like home, if you’re craving a little more peace in your life…

"ICE will leave Minnesota if you hand over your voter rolls" tells you everything you need to know.

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.

“Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world”

That song came to mind today, and it still carries a simple, powerful truth: every child, every life, is precious.

Some places feel generous just by existing.

This valley oak, rooted beside a Napa vineyard, holds decades of sun, soil & patience, offering shade, shelter & abundance without asking for attention. “Bountiful” is a reflection on that kind of richness: the kind that grows slowly & sustains quietly.

This is my dog Ginty at 10am, still firmly committed to bed. Honestly? Same. Winter mornings are not our strong suit.

Comment “I’m a bear” if you’d rather be hibernating too.

What does it mean to hunger and thirst for justice, when fulfillment still feels far away?

“Dissonance: Hunger & Thirst” holds that tension: longing and faith, fragility and resolve. A quiet reminder that the ache for justice is sacred work.

Choosing beauty is how I keep going.

When the world feels heavy, I return to the quiet work of making, layer by layer, paying attention, trusting that beauty and hope still matter.

And yes, sometimes that inner critic gets a very biblical send-off.

Some places hold stories beneath the surface.

“Devil’s Kitchen” was inspired by walking the Soldier Pass Trail in Sedona, along the edge of the sinkhole, where beauty and mystery coexist, and the land quietly reminds us that not everything needs to be fully known to be deeply felt.

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

Remember this.

When the world feels heavy, I return to making.

I may not be able to fix the world, but I can keep making beauty.

Creating is my act of faith, a quiet way of saying I still believe in what’s good & true. This is how I hold on to hope.

MLK Jr. said America suffers not just from "the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people."

Remember this.

What if the most powerful parts of us are the ones we can’t see?

“Invisible Qualities” holds space for quiet strength, tenderness, and transformation; the subtle forces that shape us long before anything becomes visible. A butterfly mid-becoming, grounded by what remains unseen but essential.

“Of course, the United States is not Russia… But now is the time to focus on the similarities and try to learn… It’s what the people of Minnesota appear to be doing, and it’s something each of us needs to do — right now, while we still can.”

I follow the quiet signs—
deer tracks by the creek,
water moving forward,
small miracles underfoot.

Nature keeps reminding me that renewal is real, that light finds its way back, even after the storm.

When the world feels chaotic, I return to my art journal.

It’s where I slow down, breathe & feel grounded again—and it’s why I love teaching art journaling to others. If you’re craving a little more peace, I’ll be sharing an online workshop soon.

What happens when opposites learn to coexist?

“Land & Sea” brings shell & plant, stars & earthbound growth into quiet conversation. Instead of conflict, there’s balance & a reminder that meaning can live in the in-between.

There is no rationale for this administration to wage war on its own city that has any legitimacy. This is America under authoritarianism and we need to all speak up to stop it.

I keep looking for beauty because it helps me keep going.

Creating art reminds me that light still exists.

Even in dark moments, light finds a way in.

I’m grateful to have been part of the City of Trees exhibit at the SMUD Gallery. Before bringing the work home, I captured this moment of “Despite the Darkness” bringing warmth and life to the space. A quiet reminder that hope still matters.

I picked up “The Separation of Church and Hate” because, while I’ve spent years reading and studying the Bible and have formed my own views about how faith is being represented by our current administration, I wanted to engage with someone else’s research.
