I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.

A Travis County jury sentenced Perry to 25 years in prison last year, prompting Abbott to ask the state parole board to review his case.

Approve: 11% (-2 from 23-25 August)
Disapprove: 70% (+3)
Net: -59 (-5)

ICE forcing firefighters to stop battling a wildfire and make them all show their papers, then arresting some active firefighters and pulling them off the line shows there's no bottom.

As @aselrod.bsky.social pointedly argues, it's nothing less than an "active assault on virtue wherever it exists."

Vaccines are truly one of the most incredible things in all of human history. We founds ways to literally defeat communicable deadly diseases at almost no cost and at no harm to ourselves.

And grifters are working to undermine that and get people killed.

Justice Jackson used “Calvinball” in an official Supreme Court dissent.

It really is the best term for the unprincipled, inconsistent, sometimes contradictory, frequently un-American bullshit the Roberts court has foisted upon us, unsubtly putting ideology and partisan outcomes over facts and law.
May this portion of the dissent by Ketanji Brown Jackson haunt John Roberts forever and be the final word on his tenure as Chief Justice.

The United States is in danger of missing it and getting left behind because our corrupt President wants us to be buyers-of-last-resort for fossil fuels owned by his paymasters in KSA and Russia.

This is a completely insane argument from Sotomayor, and is directly hostile to a constitutional form of government. Either we are all bound and protected by that document or it’s meaningless.
Justice Sotomayor suggests—implausibly—that justices somehow have a vested property interest in their office. Yet another reason why relying on judges to be reformers is an absolute disaster.
