What we really need is a rules-based international order that doesn't show up on camera.
I mean this is just the "should we hug the flag or not?" argument again. "Restore the international rules-based order but without the hypocrisy" is the same thing as a new order, just framed differently.
i guess my critique of the AOC remarks at the munich security conference (and ig biden's people as well) is that they all want to frame the current status quo as the result of a "system betrayed" and not, instead, as the result of deliberate choices, the system itself *being* the issue.

It's a good thing the Democrats passed the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act or else we would've been in bad trouble.
To be fair, she was also up against the most successful voter disenfranchisement campaign in modern history. Many of the people who would have voted for her were either deregistered, had to deal with crowded polls, had their votes denied because "signature didn't match" or they changed their hair.
