Reading Rainbow emphasis is encouraging kids to read. The focus is not on teaching them to read. The mission is reading should be fun!

We are all readers, worthy of literacy. LeVar Burton said “but you don’t have to take my word for it” because he wanted us to look to the books. That’s the beauty 💚

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have revealed a synthetic glycosystem -a sugar-coated polymer nanoparticle- that can BLOCK SARS-CoV-2 from infecting human cells, REDUCING infection rates by NEARLY 99%. Acting as a decoy, the molecule BINDS to the spike protein, PREVENTING it from attaching to real cells.

"What did PBS shows teach you?"

Mister Rogers taught us feelings are mentionable and manageable.

Reading Rainbow taught us discovering books is joy.

Sesame Street taught us learning through the kindness of community by way of our friends.

Bill Nye taught us to observe wonder through science.

Something missed in the complaints about how many people didn’t vote is that voter turnout is the highest its been in our lifetimes in the past 2 elections.

People are taking these elections more seriously than any elections in the past 50 years. Which makes the results all the more disappointing.

It's time to start reminding people: LILIES ARE DEADLY FOR CATS. The leaves, the petals, the stem, even drinking a bit of vase water or licking a few grains of pollen from their fur can cause fatal kidney failure. ⚠️ www.fda.gov/animal-veter...

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Call your Reps. Doesn’t matter what party. Your own Reps. Call, often.
My U.S. Rep, a Democrat, held a town hall and explicitly said that THE REASON she was speaking out louder now was because she got so many calls and emails.

DEFINITELY YELL AT THEM. It’s the only language they speak. It’s literally how they gauge public opinion.
One reason we yell at Democratic electeds is because a lot of us live in blue states and THEY'RE OUR REPS. So of course we yell at them when they do a bad job; that's what we do in a democracy! If we had R reps, we'd yell at them, but we've got these Ds, and a lot of them are blowing it.

… to try to stay in the shadows and hope that one would not become a target, now is not the time for that. The authoritarian dismantling of science will not just hit some of us, it will hit all of us and all of science.

It will undo science as we know it.

So now is not the time to stay quiet.
