With today’s changes at Polygon, I've made the decision to step away as a deputy editor. It’s been a privilege to work with an incredibly talented and supportive team who I'll really miss, and I’m enormously proud of what we’ve accomplished in our time together.
My main Go Wild target this weekend so nice to get it done early 😮‍💨

I played the Metroid Prime 4 demo and it’s worrying. Samus has a cold and frequently sneezes all over the inside of her helmet. There’s no way to clean it so you have to wait for the snot to drip off the glass. I hope she isn’t sick for the whole game.

I'm hoping the likes of Chiaki and Xbox streaming can be carried over between devices - I'm never setting these up on another Steam device again.

The Rockstar union case made its way into UK Parliament earlier today
Video game giant Rockstar has sacked more than 30 workers across the UK, including my constituents working at their Edinburgh office. I urged Ministers to support workers who have lost their jobs, and stop this from happening again.

As someone who has been putting off a PC upgrade forever, my patience may have just been rewarded.

Editors - Looking for a WoW Midnight beta (or beyond) person? I've been playing WoW since closed beta days in 2004 and I've written about it for SO many outlets (including Edge last year which was v cool).
Reach out if you need a WoW person! :)

you can't just bring back austin powers. the franchise wrote itself into a corner after he volunteered to stay behind forever in the shagadelic dimension to save foxxy and vanessa. they already brought him back once without explaining how he escaped from fembot island, the audience won't buy it

A good article to link to the next time someone says games criticism doesn't matter
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has defended AI following Eurogamer's 2/5 Arc Raiders review, which criticised the game's use use of AI voice generation. "AI dialog generation + human personality and tuning could totally transform gaming," Sweeney said.

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

Thanks to all who spoke with me, and always, to Keza for the chance to do important work!
