The top 2 reasons on sick leave certificates are again respiratory illness & mental health. Still people blame poor mental health on lockdowns. Every chronically ill person will be able to tell you that constant/repeated illness also affects mental health. Maybe we should stop making each other ill.

Shabana Mahmood: immigration is tearing Britain apart.

Me: the constant politicisation of immigration to appeal to base racist instincts to cover up the constant failures and weakness of central government is tearing Britain apart.

And yet, we can't wait to have diagnosis and treatment by mid 2030s. People are losing their lives and livelihood now. Research and clinical practice must accelerate now, if they haven't done it already

[About German plan for post infectious diseases, including LC. Great news but we need urgency]

Lovely music @frmo.bsky.social but just seen this support act. Morgan Garrett. Love child of Dave Mustaine and Belinda Carlisle playing Bob from Twin Pweaks in band cut from one of end scenes of Twin Peaks the Return.

My regular reminder to all here that in the Netherlands you will be charged a monthly fee for carehomes based on your wealth, but no matter how rich you are, never more than €3000 a month, or €36,000 a year. In the UK the average carehome fee now is about £85,000.

Private care providers in three English regions make £250m in three years. More than third of profits analysed went to firms owned by private equity or based in tax havens, research finds.

In a digital world chuffed my teenage daughter asked to have my old record player. Hinted that down the record, when I get a Rega R6 she can have my Rega 3 50th anniversary.

I've probably moaned about it before, but AI really makes drawing hell. I've been doing this one picture for hours, all the time doubting voices in my head go on about what a chump I am for having such a tedious and long winded process that's in no way cost effective. And I should just "type it in".

I've been trying to listen to Rachel Reeves' speech, but I keep nodding off. This isn't even a joke. It's physically impossible to stay awake. I might add it to my Insomnia playlist on Spotify.

If you’re worried about hurting artists by boycotting Spotify—don’t. They pay musicians 0.0003 per stream (on the high end) and support fascists. Go see bands play live, buy their merch, collect physical media. That’s how you support artists and tell knee-bending oligarch fascists to eat shit.

Saw U.S. Girls at Band on the Wall and again people talking when the band are on. I’d like to suggest every venue has a referee there - yellow card warning and then a red and you are out. Why pay to just then chat and also rude to the artist.

A really superb bow out by @qedcon.org - so much to take away from it - for audience who asked about the #knitting, #crochet and #trans ally poems - they’ll be in the next poetry book, but here they are
