We used to pride ourselves on our abilities to produce things that lasted “forever” & on fixing and maintaining items for decades.
Now “the economy” relies on replacements every 18 months.
Our planet can’t keep up with this.

So for my majority Non-Canadian followers: the Notwithstanding Clause is a clause in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms (our bill of rights) that basically lets the government go "nuh-uh" to human rights for a period of 5 years...and after five years, you can just...use it again. No cooldown.
