Not an energy post, but FT has a very funny "page not found" message: answers to why the page wasn't found based on economic concepts. And you don't need a subscription to read it.

Did you know the UK gov allows bottom trawling in many UK Marine Protected Areas (MPAs)?

It’s like letting a bulldozer destroy a national park.

Want to protect the UK's local fishermen and precious marine life? Please urge the UK gov to ban all industrial fishing from UK MPAs NOW:

This might be the closest thing to pure good news on the climate front I've seen for a long time.
NEW | Renewable capacity additions grew 29% annually since 2023 – outpacing the 21% growth needed to triple global renewables by 2030

With just 12% annual growth from now to 2030, backed by more ambitious national targets, #3xRenewables is still possible

Protest is fundamental to our democracy - we rightly celebrate people like Nelson Mandela who changed the world through protest

But this govt is clamping down on our protest rights with increasingly authoritarian laws

Thanks @greenpeaceuk.bsky.social for making this point so powerfully

Gas sets the price of our electricity >80% of the time. It's expensive gas which has driven the cost of living crisis.

While ordinary people struggled the oil and gas companies saw their profits rise by hundreds of millions of $.
STAND UP TO GREEDY GAS COMPANIES!
While greedy gas companies keep setting the price of our electricity, the “Great Gas Rip-Off” will keep squeezing the nation and our wallets dry.
Gas = expensive.
Renewables = cheap.

The protestors of yesteryear are revered as heroes, there are statues of them in Parliament Square

Today's protestors are locked up

Heroes now, they were criminals according to the ideas of their day.

We need to preserve our right to protest. Message the government from the link in this report.

Animal agriculture. The gift that keeps on giving. Climate change, biodiversity loss and antibiotic resistance.
We are in trouble.
We need to restrict unmonitored use in animals.

- Amazon emits MORE CO2 than Hong Kong & Denmark
- Jeff Bezos earns more in 1 MINUTE than many of his workers do in a year

U.K. electricity costs are starting to fall as a result of renewables pushing pricey gas off the system.

Trump’s allies now control X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, & TikTok.

They own Fox News, CBS, WaPo, WSJ & NY Post.

They own Sinclair Broadcasting which has 200 tv stations and local news in 100 markets.

“Freedom of speech” is now what Trump and his billionaire pals say it is.
