in some ways i think the part where trump is a heathen with no personal theocratic views is actually key--since the theocrats behind him are an insane mix of catholic converts and evangelicals of numerous sects. he's a non-sectarian messiah to them
they'll fragment, but eventually one'll probably re-emerge & dominate once they find a charismatic leader.
how successful idk, seems clear the next direction goes more overtly theocratic. (Trump's a heather, whatever else, despite evangelicals being willing to worship the orange calf)

sorry one last thought: if you can subscribe to the idea that companies can be "too big to fail" then i think you ought to contend with AI firms grafting themselves onto military interests and how that draws us into reading organizing against AI along lines like national security interests/terrorism
