Why won't Mike Lawler support the release of the Epstein files?

He wants to "move on" from the controversy because that benefits him. Call his office today.

Democratic reaction to an impeachment essay I wrote at 100 days ranged from “there’s no point, it did nothing last time” to “do it right now, what is wrong with you people?” Here are my answers to @editorialboard.bsky.social's hard questions about this dilemma. www.editorialboard.com/the-key-to-i...
The key to impeachment? Timing
In the meantime, the Democrats are stuck in a bind: between being unable to do anything and being accused of doing nothing.

🧵In honor of what would have been his 99th birthday today, here's a Miles Davis Top 10 comprised of my favorite recordings. Rules: No compilations or posthumous box sets. Only releases that appeared during his life or live performances issued after his death (bootlegs allowed).

Nefertiti, Kind of Blue, and Milestones are my favorites but Nefertiti is probably at the top
Bonus Track 1: "Nefertiti" (1967). Wayne's miracle of lyric melodic-harmonic expression sums up '60s post-bop. The performance startles: Horns keep repeating the melody; trio gets loose; Tony improvises a drum concerto. Hear it once & it lives in your brain forever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu0I...

So a respected journalist warned the nation that the Trump administration is a threat to free speech and, true to form, its state media outlet warns that there will now surely be retribution by the administration against that same journalist and his network for his act of free speech.
Fox News' Harris Faulkner reacts to Scott Pelley's commencement speech by saying the White House could soon strip CBS of "funding" for supposedly being antisemitic.

"The administration has an answer for this. And Scott Pelley, I don't know, maybe it won’t be 60 Minutes anymore."

Much of the Trump news coverage over the past 4+ months has been very good but there's still some aggressive sanewashing like here from the @nytimes.com ⤵️ My latest on the Times' misfire AND the outlets that got the West Point story right. open.substack.com/pub/jennifer...

On April 1-
VOTE Gay Valimont to replace disgraced Matt Gaetz.

Valimont supports SS, healthcare, gun violence prevention and our vets. Her opponent wants to cut funds to the VA.

We have a chance to win back Congress and counter Trump’s viscous attacks! Vote Valimort!

The 1% evade $163B in taxes per year.

Tesla paid $0 in federal income taxes from 2018 - 2022 & 2024.

Billionaires can write off the cost of their private jets and yachts.

While undocumented immigrants paid $96B in taxes in 2022.

The more you look into it, the crazier it gets.

People that don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.

Right now, in our country we are 100% repeating one of the ugliest most disgraceful times in world history, and it’s our government doing it.

We need more brave individuals to speak up and speak out to save the soul of our nation.
An elderly holocaust survivor confronts ICE and Tom Homan.

His bravery after what he has experienced and endured shows his incredible indomitable spirit even the Nazis couldn’t crush.

At many (most?) universities, international students pay full freight (often allowing the school to offer financial aid and scholarships to U.S. students). Terrorizing them will no doubt decrease int’l enrollment, hitting higher ed’s bottom line. Which is the point.

The real punchline here is that this not-dead guy (a fake problem) couldn't fix his payments because SSA already doesn't have enough staffing (a real problem)

I found a ‘dead’ person collecting Social Security in Seattle
“Dead” Ned Johnson turns out to be very much alive. It took him weeks to convince the system he was breathing and to start clawing his benefits back.
