We obtained audio recordings and logs from each hearing of a sexual assault case that has spanned 10 years.

Nearly every time the defense attorney asked to delay the trial, a judge agreed.

Four different judges have agreed to delay the trial more than 70 times in total. We pieced together a timeline of the delays using audio recordings and logs from every hearing.

The US Administration is not engaged in a 'crackdown', which means strict punishment of people who break laws.

It is engaged in a vast and universal program of immigrant exclusion, regardless of legal status, skill, and economic contribution.
A new rule ending the automatic extension of work authorization could lead employers to remove workers from payroll. Attorney Jon Wasden: “The next step is massive delays in adjudication times. This will force people out of work as they wait for an EAD.” @mclem.org

Someone asked me the other day*:

How do we replace all the science that’s being lost across the US as NIH, NSF etc are being lawlessly destroyed?

The answer is: we cannot. It is impossible.
The task now is to defend #NIH and public funding for medical research.

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.
