That was the most embarrassing spectacle I've ever seen/heard.

Who buys this crap?
Donald says he wants to restore dignity and respect to the American flag. Pardon me if I have doubts . . .

Take Chris' advice and read this book. I just finished it today and it's eye opening. Highly recommended.

Too bad you voted to confirm the guy who is doing this. Hope you are doing more than sending sternly worded letters.
Rumeysa Ozturk must not be deported. You can't kidnap someone off the street for their political views — this isn't Moscow.

She has every right to speak her mind. I've contacted the Administration. I want answers.

I unsubscribed from all substack newsletters, even those I paid for. Before leaving, I commented why but never got a response. Oh well.
I don’t read things written on substack if I can at all help it, this is true of many folks who are too polite to say it for fear of putting off those who write there, but you should know if you’re still on that platform!
just an n of 1 observation: if i land on an article posted to substack, I am 20x (?) more likely to just bounce off of it (esp when it shows that stupid signup / subscribe button immediately) never to return

This isn't anti-DEI - it's retelling history as a story with only white men in it. The tale of the Navajo Code Talkers is essential to understanding the Allies' victory in WWII. Removing it because the people involved were non-white is segregationism.

Dear Senate Dems who plan on voting "yes" on cloture:
March 12, 2025 at 6:01 PM
JFC, I hate this timeline.
One more thing: Punchbowl reports that some Democratic senators are considering allowing the CR to proceed to a floor vote, lowering the threshold from 60 to 51 votes. Any such vote is the same as a vote for the CR but with even less integrity. Please encourage your colleagues to be better than this

@kylec.bsky.social this is worth pursuing.

Yup. I called Hickenlooper's DC officer this week and was told by his aide/intern that he is committed to doing EVERYTHING possible to fix this mess. I guess he doesn't understand the meaning of the word everything.
This is one reason we're mad at Democrats in Congress. They could—as Republicans have done for decades—gum up the works and make it harder to move the fascist agenda forward.

Instead they agree to make it easy.

With only a handful of exceptions, every Dem in Congress needs to go. Clean house.🧹

And yet just yesterday Fetterman and Welch voted to invoke cloture on Eric Turner, the nominee for HUD Secretary. WTF, Dems?

Welch is a huge surprise, coming from the very Democratic state of Vermont.
Yes. More like this please.
Murphy: "We need to act like a real opposition party in the middle of a constitutional and democracy crisis. That means we should not be moving forward nominees or legislation in the Senate. Ds should not be giving votes to nominee or legislation in the Senate until Rs get serious about this crisis"

Oh, Steve, you have such quaint ideas. BUT I AGREE WITH YOU 100%!
A question I’d really like to see reporters start asking members of Congress—of *both* parties:

If the Trump administration starts openly defying court orders, what (if anything) are you going to do about it?

That man is a one trick pony. And incredibly boring at that.

Ruben Gallego, Mark Kelly, John Hickenlooper, Chris Coons, Lisa Blunt Rochester, Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker, Maggie Hassan, Jeanne Shaheen, Maria Cantwell, Gary Peters, Elissa Slotkin, Angus King, John Fetterman, Tim Kaine & Mark Warner all voted to confirm this guy who is allowing Musk access
Please tell us who the 16 Dems were that voted to confirm Bessent. I'll be damned if I can find a source that gives the names of those who voted yes.
NEW: Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system. Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those that compete directly with Musk's own companies. All of it.

James Harvey III is one handsome dude.
Hey, while we're talking about erasing history:

In 1949 the US military held its first Aeriel Gunnery Competition, later known as "Top Gun."

The best of the best competed in dogfighting and other skills. The team that won, was the 332nd: The Tuskegee airmen.

So they refused to announce a winner🤡

Wow Kaine and Kim were big surprises. Fetterman not so much
6 Democrats just voted to confirm Kristi Noem — an election-denier who said 13 year old girls should be forced to carry their rapist’s baby to term and who executed her puppy — to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security.

Why, Democrats, why?
January 25, 2025 at 7:00 PM
WTF? These people are such a disappointment, to put it mildly.
These 8 Democrats just voted last night to advance the nomination of Kristi Noem for DHS Secretary:

John Fetterman (D-PA)
Maggie Hassan (D-NH)
Tim Kaine (D-VA)
Andy Kim (D-NJ)
Gary Peters (D-MI)
Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)
Elissa Slotkin (D-MI)
Raphael Warnock (D-GA)

Bedbugs for the doucebags. That's a win/win in my book.
House Republicans will be going to Donald Trump's Doral golf club resort in Florida for a 3 day conference retreat starting on Monday.

More funneling of taxpayer money to Donald.

Vile.
