I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

Let me save everybody some time: nothing will come of "Venezuela's oil", it's an enormous capital expenditure to extract useful product out of it. In the time frame of "decades" necessary to build that capex the value will diminish rapidly, making it literally never pencil out.

I live in Canada: we just had an election where millions of voters who despise Trump voted for the Conservatives, who were all but promising to kowtow to him. Italy elected a literal Mussolini. The leading candidate for next Prime Minister of the UK is Nigel Farage. EVERY COUNTRY HAS STUPID PEOPLE.

The bigger point here is that it's too often the case that Americans remember the civil rights movement as a battle between an active force (Civil rights activists) and a passive force (racism) which is presumed to be melting away as the moral arc of the universe bends. But that's inaccurate.

White genocide is when a neighbor has a weird name.

White genocide is when you hear a new language for the first time and don't understand it.

White genocide is when the girl who ghosted you, after you generously offered to breed her, starts posting Insta pics of her new favorite ethnic cuisine.
This guy is talking about some people who were not white moving to a city because a company located there hired them.

One way to think of the Trump Admin is as having SHIFTED the $$ we used to spend on curing cancer (and providing care to Veterans and protecting nature and etc) to snatching brown people off the streets.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

what LAPD never told the public or internal investigators.

Schools went on lockdown, people stayed inside. It lasted the entire afternoon. A constant din of whistles, sirens, helicopters, people shouting. Or dead silence.

I see the NYT, New Yorker, commentariat frame it as "activists clashing with ICE."

No.

ICE/CBP/DHS are terrorizing US citizens.

This study argues that if one stops and thinks about the task for a minute, one is more likely to go about and complete it (i.e., cut with procrastination).

I have empirical, albeit anecdotal, field evidence showing limited effectiveness. 🧪

What are the names of the U.S. Navy officers carrying out these orders to serially bomb civilian boats that pose no threat to their own vessels, killing everyone aboard? Surely they’ll want to take personal credit for this honorable service and perhaps wear a little campaign medal on their chest.
