Whatever your thoughts on Ovi and the Caps, it is very cool and also INSANE that a 39 year old is leading the league in scoring, and is also 27 away from breaking Gretzky's goals record.
He is 39 years old. He leads the NHL in goals with 15, in 18 games. He has goals in five straight periods. Everything about this is, frankly, insane.

I will never forget the photo of Zelenskyy’s face after he saw Russia’s war crimes in Bucha in 2022. He seemed to age years in an afternoon. Watching him constantly cross the world asking for aid that should have been thrown at him is one of the deepest shames of our age.

Super random life advice: ALWAYS buy name brand staples.
IDK what the difference is, but with any brand other than Swingline, probably about 70% of attempts to staple something either jam my stapler or don't go through the paper or don't bend right and have to be taken out and redone.

The weirdest paradox is that after you hit 35, you pretty much feel like you’re both 20 and 60 years old at the same time forever. Like it’s just a lifetime of thinking “but what do I REALLY wanna do with my life” while you fire up the blood pressure machine that lives on the kitchen counter now

We don't "use" the computer, we negotiate with it to try and make it do the things we want, as the incentives of modern software development no longer align with users user. Our frustration isn't hate - it's outrage, as something was taken from us.

Started listening to LOTR at work today. I've read it before but IDK if I skipped Tolkien's foreword then, because today I was very amused by his rather cranky insistence that "THIS IS NOT AN ALLEGORY OKAY?? STOP SAYING THIS IS AN ALLEGORY."
