The absolute state of the BBC news just now - which seems determined to drag the government down over the budget.

Where was all this attention to minute detail and concern for absolute accuracy when the Tories were lying their way through their chaotic reign for 14 years? It's frankly absurd.

Most benefits go to people IN WORK.

Because…

THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH PROPERLY PAID JOBS,

Rather than insisting employers pay decent wages, governments use taxpayers’ money to subsidise employers who don’t.

Welfare was not meant to support employers.

This is completely wrong.
Kevin Maguire is right, 60% of kids in poverty are in households where at least one parent works.

Yorkshire Bylines recorded >2,000 of them from 2021-4.
The Davis Downside Dossier
David Davis famously said there would be no downsides to Brexit only considerable upsides - so we started recording them.

This video is absolutely hilarious.
I preferred it when Rod Stewart sung
lovely songs such as ‘Sailing,’
‘Mull of Kintyre’ and ‘Margaret May.’
Now he’s become all radicalised, wallpapering his rooms in animal skin and sending back his gongs.

Not the Brexit deal.
Brexit.
A prejudiced moronathon that will continue to damage our country until we’re brave/sane enough to admit it, demand accountability from those who insisted upon it and then, finally, start to fix it.
The tide is turning. Even the Telegraph is now admitting the damage the Brexit deal has done to the economy.

Great thread on the poor man the Telegraph chose to run an article on re the ‘mansion tax’ 🙄
But his retirement plans are now in “disarray” and “ruined” cos he’s going to have to find an additional £208.33 per month?

He has £2-4 million in savings/investments but claims he is not “cash-rich” and his house was his only “pension”

Seriously @Telegraph, where do you find these people?🤣🤣🙄

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

Quick analysis of The Times today:
Wall to wall negative coverage of Labour’s budget. An editorial that tuts about lack of growth but takes no responsibility. And a double page ad to join Farage/Reform.
Absolutely no analysis on how rightwing ideology - including Brexit - has been utterly ruinous.
