The line “vote for us or you’ll get the far right” doesn’t really work when the policies you’re enacting are barely distinguishable from what the far right propose.

Republicans can turn on Trump and get ousted in their primaries by a furious base or stick with him and get ousted in the general by a furious everyone else. Good luck, couldn't have happened to a better group of guys

bush v gore is the hinge upon which basically everything awful from the last quarter century swings on
i don't think that bush v. gore is the *worst* ruling in the history of the supreme court, but i do think it is the most openly *corrupt* ruling in its history. a real disgrace.

That’s Chekhov. In Ibsen you die while trying to impress a young woman. Or die by suicide. Or from syphilis. Or live, but are abandoned by the people you love most.

Maybe the tent system is the problem? Let’s try something more structurally sound than a tent, it might work out

I think Trump vs US might have it beat

Basically John Roberts specifically gave Trump (and likely only Trump) the same absolutely immunity from criminal prosecution that Mao Zedong had when he was chairman of the CCP

The whole decision was made up out of thin air because Roberts is a monarchist

KARL: The president claims that Thanksgiving costs are down 25%. Does he know that's not true?

HASSETT: Well if you look at Walmart--

KARL: Wait a minute. I've gotta stop you. The Walmart package this year contains much less than the one last year. That's why the price is less.
