I’m not a Colbert or Kimmel stan, but I am a ride-or-die for free speech. Once it’s gone, it doesn’t come back in four years—it becomes a story we tell our kids, like “baloney used to be 25¢ a pound… and I used to have free speech.”

Dear Disney,

You may be the happiest place on earth, but it’s a crap-tastic world after all if we lose free speech.

Cancel subs. Skip parks, cruises, merch. Don’t help them silence us.

Again, YOU are the ones killing your own industry. Don't blame anyone else for killing journalism.

These so-called journalists parroting press releases are the biggest sources of the disinformation that has allowed the broligarchy the highest levels of power centralization and control.

Every single elected member of Congress - all 535 of them - should be on their feet shouting for Hegseth’s resignation and an immediate inquiry into his communications and any earlier Signal related scandal.

Whether it’s their committee or not, they should ALL be calling for it.

This has always been an obvious problem with their slapdash approach. You can temporarily “save money” on paper by deciding to randomly stop paying bills. But if it turns out you needed some of that stuff, it’s ultimately going to be more expensive.
NYT: One estimate finds that DOGE’s “firings, re-hirings, lost productivity and paid leave of thousands of workers” will actually COST taxpayers “upward of $135 billion this fiscal year.”

Nothing will ever be the same. There will need to be a lot of soul searching and new guardrails placed to strengthen any democracy we have remaining.
I appreciate what this is trying to do but I doubt that he peacefully leaves at the end of his term and I doubt that the rest of the governmental infrastructure can survive until we find out and I don't think "we have to survive 3.5 years and then we'll be fine" is correct politically or morally

Most people don’t know this (but it’s public info), the SecDef’s office is more secure than the Oval Office. The Oval has “SCIF-like” features, but doesn’t fully comply to ICD 705 standards. The SecDef office was purpose built as a SCIF to meet ICD 705 spec.

I don’t buy that he was “going to the back of his office where he could access a wifi signal.

That office is a SCIF, the windows even have RF shielding films and mesh, a wifi signal won’t penetrate it. And you can’t exactly call Comcast to install a line, so if he had a “dirty” line, it’s Starlink.
