I have no idea how long this "whole language learning" thing has been around, but I watch a few (American) gaming YouTubers and if they're reading an item/ability description or a dialog text box out loud they'll often get about 3-4 words in and then just start making stuff up.

ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Universities are assembling larger and larger teams to deal with academic integrity issues--mostly focused on AI--while simultaneously holding AI "writing" contests, AI-themed events, "hey, come play with these fun tools!" The messages are so mixed, it's criminal. Because AI is bloated with money.

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

I don’t want to put anybody on blast, but I do want to counter misinformation because I’ve seen this spreading around: If a Medicare Advantage plan drops an older adult, that older adult automatically gets regular Medicare. They do not lose health insurance coverage.

I honestly don't know why ANYONE would possibly do this. If your image of food is AI, I assume that you don't give a shit about anything in your restaurant and that your food looks terrible, because otherwise you would, at a minimum, take out your pocket phone camera and snap a real picture.
Same but for any restaurant that uses AI images of their food (including a few well reviewed, high end places in nyc)

in 1st century Judea, the corners of every field had to be left for the poor to pick crops for themselves, every seventh year *all* of the crops from fields and vineyards and orchards belonged to the poor, and all debts of all types were cancelled every 50th year.

fwiw unless they have changed how all the legislation works it is definitely not true that books have to be withdrawn from sale if their author intends to use the money for something illegal.
eg: no book has ever had to be withdrawn from sale because the author bought drugs with the royalties
