many of the states with universities that have entered into "agreements" with the regime have robust civil rights laws, including protection against discrimination on the basis of gender identity/expression. the Illinois Attorney General could make an example out of Northwestern. he really should.

I’m really enjoying this show and not a small amount because it absolutely proves the point I have about sex scenes, which is that in some relationships, sex is the primary means of connection and communication, and those are valid and should be on film, too.
I was expecting Heated Rivalry to be like Red White and Royal Blue level of sexy romance and uh

It is not!

“it’s just a tool” becomes unconvincing when entrepreneurship means leveraging power to make it impossible for people to avoid your product, and creating problems for whomever doesn’t use it

Thinking about the NYPD SRG cop yesterday who saw protestors futzing with a barrier they made at the ICE garage. He climbed out of his van and vaguely complained walking over.

It seemed like he was planning to clear it, then bailed when I blurted out “You can’t do that. You can’t help them.”

nothing

but it has led bosses to fire people leading to wrongly done work, messed up universities, wrecked any progress made on climate change goals, so your aunt can get wrong answers to unimportant questions for less than it cost the company to provide them

man, the Carman Family Deaths documentary on Netflix is a prime example of why you should never, EVER speak to the police, especially if you are autistic.

It’s infuriating to me that I need to evaluate media to determine whether it’s AI generated now. The great “time saver” technology wastes incalculable time and energy for people who want to retain their grasp on reality

I think it's all of the above, but more of column A and B than C. Don't get me wrong, FUCK AI with a rusty rake, but America as we know it is dead, we're watching the rise of 1930s Nazi Germany all over again, and we've been living in a world where no one cares about the damn Pandemic anymore. ⤵️

Think about how much easier it would be to prosecute Hegseth for war crimes if Kissinger or Cheney and Rumsfield had been.

Can you even imagine how different the last few decades would be if Kissinger had faced literally any form of justice for his crimes.

I am a dev and I dislike AI because

•it cannot operate without stolen data
•it does not work reliably
•it lies all the time
•it is terribly inefficient
•it pollutes
•it is/was oversold
•the biggest frauds champion it
•the people behind it are psychos

none of these are unreasonable complaints

Think about all the evil assholes in this administration.

They *all* expect to die of old age, obscenely wealthy, surrounded by family, because that is how the US has allowed *every single previous evil asshole* to live after doing their atrocities.

They learned they will never be punished.

The right has been very openly building the scaffolding for a fascist state for DECADES. That’s also why we’re so angry at the Democrats, most of whom act baffled and surprised by this predictable turn of events, as if the GOP didn’t courtesy mail them a copy of the blueprints in like 1983.

99% of Discourse could be avoided if people simply accepted that multiple things can be true at the same time, and often are. The universe isn't divided neatly into heroes and villains. Humans are messy and complicated. Everyone always thinks they're the good guy, no matter how awful they are.

This is narcissism masquerading as philosophy — the technophile elite are not recognizing a new soul in AI, they're falling in love with their creation, staring at their own reflection in a digital pool.

It is the ultimate in solipsism and has its roots in a pathological fear and denial of death.

My mom told her physical therapist she wears a mask because her husband and daughter are immunocompromised. The PT said she is too but isn't worried bc she knows if she dies she is going to heaven. Then her co-worker yelled, “Shut up Debbie you wear a seatbelt and take blood pressure meds” 👀
